May Update

This month has been awesome! Not only is it the best month of the year in my hometown of Indianapolis with the Indianapolis 500 but I also started on a really cool new journey on the investing side of things. This month I began my internship with a local real estate company.

Last month I had the opportunity to speak with the two founders, Tyler and Max. They were awesome guys and were excited about the opportunity of me coming to work for them as an Intern. Early this month after school was finished I met the two for coffee. They both were really cool and extremely knowledgeable about real estate. They explained two me how they had just recently created Roots Realty Co and were looking to quickly grow the team.

These two guys were both young and hungry to do great things. I was inspired by their actions and knew this was going to be a great fit. My jobs as an intern were:

• Deal analysis for current clients

• Prospecting to find new clients

• Determining ways to provide value to the Indy Investor community

• Help plan a large summer event

• Various admin tasks for team building

I am working part time with most of my hours online and some of them in person. So far I have done a tone of deal analysis which has been pretty cool. I was taught how to properly analyze rehab costs which is something that I was never that great at before. I have also sat in on a lunch with clients and done a phone call with a client that I found myself on Biggerpockets.

This has already been a really great experience and I could not be more excited for the summer!
