Reigniting the Fire

Something that I have realized recently is that I am not as fired up and motivated as I once was. In high school, I was incredibly driven to be the very best in all aspects of my life. I worked hard and did the right things that would lead to success. I still do a lot of these things today but do not find myself actively working to be at the top level. I do not consistently take action in order to improve myself to the level I really want to be. In this post, I’d like to share my thoughts on this and what my plans are moving forward.
I want to be very successful. I do not want to just be good or slightly above average, I want to be up at the highest level. I do not mean this in a cocky or condescending way whatsoever. I believe that God put us on this earth to live our lives to the fullest. We are called to do extraordinary things but it is so often that our society calls us to mediocrity. I do not want mediocrity. I recognize that in order to have a high level of success it takes a ton of work and not just any work for that matter. You have to be willing to do what so many people are unwilling to do. You have to put in work that separates you from everyone else. This is by no means an easy task.
As another injury has recently occurred in my own life, I have had a chance to reevaluate things. I feel that in college running I have had some success. With this recent success I have become somewhat complacent and have failed to seek out new ways to improve. For that matter, I have even neglected some of the things that I know I should be doing that will help me to continue to get better. This same situation has carried over into my ambitions with real estate as well. I have looked to real estate as something that will come in the future and that it will just be easy to achieve financial freedom. NEWS FLASH! IT WON’T. I have to work hard to achieve my goals. I have to continue to improve myself, to grow, and to develop.
In order to be at the top you have to stop doing the things that are holding you back. For me, I realize that I am simply spending too much time on my phone. Sure some things on there are beneficial but a lot of it is mindless scrolling. I am going to take that time and spend it working on improving myself in some manner. I am going to continue to pivot and seek out new ways to get better.
I encourage you to take a look at your own life. Where can you find ways to improve? I’ll leave you with this simple question: What are you going to do today to set yourself apart?
