Take Action

Why is it that so many people dream about owning real estate but never purchase their first deal? People hear about the gains that come about from owning property but fail to ever purchase a property. These people use excuses like they don’t have enough money or they’ve heard that a price drop is right around the corner. It is important to understand how real estate works but I believe it is better to take a swing than to sit on the sidelines.

Owning real estate has the potential to change someone’s life for the better. What is so unique about real estate investing is that anyone can purchase a property. There is no barrier that says a certain group cannot participate, rather anyone who is willing to put in some work can acquire a deal. Many people fail to see that this is true and will never seek out the opportunity.

One of my favorite analogies is to compare real estate to baseball. On TV you’ll hear about people getting these home runs of a deal and although that is possible, it is not always the truth. Real estate has some ups and downs but I feel that for those just starting out, they should find a deal that cash flows and take action by purchasing it. Purchasing a base hit that may only cash flow a small amount is powerful as it allows an investor to learn how real estate works.

Learning the ins and outs of real estate on a small scale offers an investor the chance to take a smaller amount of risk all while still learning how the process works. By taking some action this person is now on the path to building a portfolio that will grow and provide money for years to come.

I encourage any person reading this to learn some basic real estate information and to take action. It is so much better to take action and be in the game than to sit on the sidelines wishing you could play. It is very rare to find a person who wishes they would have never started investing in long-term rentals. Owning these types of deals pay off big time in the long term. It’s a grow rich slow kind of game but it all starts with the decision to purchase your first deal. Make a call, go see a property, and put an offer in. I promise you won’t regret it!
