My Go One More Story

One of my favorite YouTubers, Nick Bare, has a saying of “Go One More.” This phrase sticks with me as it is so simple yet can have an incredible impact. Each year Nick’s company BPN has an ambassador application. This will be my second year in the application process. I could have given up after the first attempt but that would contradict this mindset that means so much to me. For that reason, I would like to share some of the application to the blog.
The Go One More mentality has become a staple in my life. Ever since finding Nick Bare and BPN, I have implemented this mindset into my own life. These three simple words have been life altering in so many different aspects of life. First, it has greatly affected my running. I am a distance runner who is running at the D1 level. Throughout high school, I have constantly set goals to challenge myself and strive toward greatness. Through tough workouts and races, the phrase “Go One More” would pop into my head. I am reminded that other competitors are pushing hard but I must push harder. This mindset has allowed me to race at the Indiana State XC meet three times, receive the Indiana XC mental attitude award, run at the track State Finals, and has provided the opportunity to run in college. In college, I was the fastest freshman to ever run an 8k at my school which also was the 9th fastest time in program history. I know that mindset is crucial in any sport but I feel that it must be at peak condition in running. The Go One More mentality has definitely pushed me past limits I never could have imagined. Outside of running, I have used this mentality on numerous occasions. Go One More reminds me to go out of my way and help others. I can do simple kind acts like holding the door, asking how someone is doing, or just simply smiling at someone. The Go One More mentality has ultimately made me a better, stronger individual who is willing to help others elevate to their peak potential.
I have always been a team player, both on the track and off. In every situation, I try to help others feel good about themselves. In high school, I was the team captain. Every practice, workout, and race I would encourage my teammates to do their best. At each of these events, I would also lead the team in a short prayer. This time was so crucial as it calmed everyone down before the pain and suffering that they would soon experience during the race/workout. After races, I always congratulate others and support them in any way necessary. In high school, I received the Indiana Mental Attitude award for XC, which is an award that is given to one male athlete each year. I took the lessons I learned in high school and continue to use them on a daily basis here in college. Outside of running, I have a personal website with a blog. My goal with this blog is to impact others to work towards a brighter future where they achieve their goals. I post about self-improvement and also about my passion for real estate. I have personally learned that goal setting and mindset are so important and I strive to help others know how crucial these two things are in life.
That’s my application and I challenge any of you reading this to ask yourself where in your own life can you improve yourself and go one more?
