Thriving Vs Surviving

These days there are so many people who are living life one day at a time. They wake up, go to work, and come home only to have this cycle continue day in and day out. These people are tired at the end of the day and wonder what they have accomplished. Looking back they feel unfilled knowing that this was just another one of those days they checked off. Many of these people aren’t shooting for anything, they have no goals. These people are surviving.

Thriving people go through a similar life but there are key differences from that of one who is surviving. They wake up and go to work each day in just the same way, only they have a goal in mind and are actively working towards it. Thriving individuals likely woke up early before work and got in some exercise. These people probably have a race on the calendar or some other fitness challenge waiting ahead of them.

A lot of thriving people will go to work already having accomplished something in the morning and work with passion. Their work life is one filled with dedication and persistence to succeed. These people are working with a goal in mind, enjoying what they are doing, and if not, they’re working with the thought of one day not needing to work that job anymore.

Thriving people are making more money and are fulfilled at the end of the work day. They go to bed knowing that have given effort and look to the next day as a new opportunity and not just any other day in the work week. Thriving people live by a set of principles that lead them toward success. Day in and day out they live by these principles and are constantly improving.

Each day, I am striving to be a thriving individual. At times, I may fall into the category of surviving but I learn from these days. I know that each new day is an opportunity to accomplish something and it should not be taken for granted. Life is precious and I plan on spending each second to the fullest! I have goals I am shooting for and I want to spend every chance I get at improving. I don’t want to be mediocre. I don’t want to just survive. I want to thrive!
